Custom and redesigned gold jewellery in Singapore

Minora Jewels redesigns old, broken or unworn gold jewellery into pieces you will wear again, and makes custom pieces to order. It starts with a conversation at our Little India showroom about the design, the gold involved and the making charge, all agreed before any work begins.

Why redesign old gold?

Many families have gold that sits in a drawer: a chain that broke, earrings that have lost their pair, or a design that no longer suits. Redesigning keeps the gold, and often its story, in the family while giving you something you will wear.

It can also make sense for a gift or an occasion, when you want a piece that is not on the counter.

How does the process work?

Before and after: a broken gold chain and a single stud earring, beside a new gold teardrop pendant on a fine chain

  1. Bring your pieces or ideas to the showroom. Photos of designs you like help.
  2. Talk through the design with us, and how much gold it will need.
  3. Agree the quote before any work starts: the gold involved, any extra gold at the day's rate, and the making charge for the craftsmanship.
  4. Collect your piece when it is ready.

Walk in any time to start the conversation; no appointment is needed.

What kinds of pieces can be reworked?

Most gold jewellery can be a starting point: a single earring whose pair is lost, a broken chain, a ring that no longer fits, or an heirloom in a style you would not wear today. Bring the piece in, and we will look at its purity and how it is made with you, then talk about what the gold could become. Not every design suits every piece, and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

What affects the cost?

The cost depends mainly on the weight of gold in the finished piece and how detailed the work is. If the new design needs more gold than you bring, the extra is charged at today's 916 rate. New jewellery is subject to 9% GST. As with every quote, we break it down line by line, as explained in how to check a gold price quote.

Redesign, trade in or sell?

If you would rather not rework a piece, you can trade it in towards something from the counter, or sell it for cash. We can talk through all three with you in the showroom.

Questions we’re asked

Can you work with gold bought from another shop?

Bring it in and we will look at it with you, including its purity and how it is made, before we discuss a design.

Will I know the cost before you start?

Yes. The design, the gold involved and the making charge are agreed with you before any work begins.

Can I bring a photo of a design I like?

Yes. Photos and sketches help us understand what you have in mind.
